Owen Power is the Co-Chair of MLJC, Owen is also on the Board of National Officers of Liberal Judaism with the inclusion and social justice portfolio. Owen is also the Co-Chair for Liberal Judaism's Biennial 2021.
Owen is a campaigner for Social Justice. He has served as a diversity and equality advisor for a range of government social projects.
Owen holds a BA (Hons), MA in Jewish Studies and MPhil from the Centre for Jewish Studies at the University of Manchester. His thesis on the Anglo-Jewish thinker Hugh Schonfield (a member of LJS and a close friend of Rabbi John Rayner) was published by Wipf & Stock.
Owen is an active campaigner against antisemitism.
Phyllis is the Co-Chair of MLJC and has been part of MLJC since it was established and has worked to help build the community.
As well as her profession as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Phyllis loves to sing, paint and write music and won the Liberal Judaism songwriter’s competition in 2017 with her composition for the Aleinu which is a prayer recited at the end of services.
